Arthur:- He was born on ??-?-1901 and  died on 26-05-1952. He was probably born at 251 Yardley Road, Yardley, Birmingham after the family moved from 77 Floodgate Street, Deritend, Birmingham. It was formerly known as 4 Clarence Villas. He married his wife, Nellie Gertrude Chambers, on December 26th 1929 (ref V6d Page 184) at St Cyprians Church, Hay Mills, Birmingham. They had one daughter June. Nellie was born in ???? and lived at 1096 Coventry Road, Hay Mills and died aged 103 on 11th November in 2009 at the Willow Grange care home in St Bernards Road, Olton, Birmingham. Arthur is buried in plot 73672 at Yardley Cemetery, South Yardley, Birmingham. Nellie was cremated at Yardley Crematorium and her ashes are buried in the garden at her sisters house (the LEESE's) at Creynolds Lane, Cheswick Green, Shirley, West Midlands.

 Arthur and Nellie lived at 17, Yew Tree Avenue, South Yardley, Birmingham. After Arthur's death Nellie lived at several locations away from Birmingham, for some time in Richmond, Surrey and finally before moving to a care home she lived with friends at a bungalow in Creynolds Lane, Cheswick Green, opposite her sisters house. She was a frequent visitor to her daughter June's home in Santa Maria, Los Angeles, USA. She was flying there until she was 90 yrs old.  

When he was young Arthur was a great swimmer and used to swim in the "cut", a slang name for the canal that crossed the Yardley road, only 150 yds away from the family home,Clarence Villas, Yardley.

Arthur worked as a contract lorry driver for Chambers and Cook Freight at some time The company was co-founded in 1925 by Harold Chambers who was Nellies step brother. The company is located at Perry fields Road, Witton, Birmingham.
