MABEL GERTRUDE:- Mabel Gertrude was born Jan-Mar 1894 and her death is recorded on 27/07/1934. GRO V60 P89. She was possibly born at 77 Floodgate Street, Digbeth, Birmingham, before moving with the family to 251 Yardley Rd, South Yardley, Birmingham, (formerly 4 Clarence Villas), and was the eldest of the daughters. Records seem to indicate that she married a Mr Richard Hems in 1915 (v6d P539) in the Aston ward.  She died at the age of 24 (v6d P404) in Jul-Sep 1917. It is possible that he emigrated to Toronto in Canada and had two sons - Frank and Roy.

There is a record of a Mabel Gertrude Hems logged on to a White Star Line ship, Megantic, which departed Liverpool, sailing to Quebec, Canada.
