He then joined the 4th Battalion  and became the Commanding officers driver in Germany during 1945-46. In 1946-1947 Horace was regimentaly employed as a driver to a Rear Admiral for 1 year until 4th July when he was sent to Aldershot to be 'de-mobbed' and put on 'Reserves' He was issued with his medals in 1989. He is a member of the 'Grenadier Guards' association, attending regular meeting with other comrades.
